Update from PEG
September 23, 2017
Dear BES Parent,
Welcome back to school! Have you heard about PEG (Parent Engagement Group)? PEG is a group of BES parent volunteers who meet once a month to be involved, engaged and volunteer for Basalt Elementary School.
PEG is responsible for several school events and programs including Bingo Night, Teacher Appreciation Week, Adopt-A-Staff, Teacher Conference Meals, Fundraisers (such as popsicle & bake sales) and much more. All of the money raised from these events go directly to support our teachers. Last year for the first time, PEG was able to honor our dedicated teachers who have been teaching for 10-25 years, with a financial award.
Of course, we couldn’t hold all of these events and programs and help our children’s teachers without the support of dedicated parents. However, we do understand that parents are working, taking care of younger siblings and running out of time in the day to volunteer a few times a month for all of our fundraising needs.
There is a way you can help though! This year, PEG has decided to try something new and begin a tradition with an annual appeal. We are asking you to give any amount you are comfortable with. Every dollar will make a difference in helping our teachers and ensuring their success. Our goal is to raise enough money in order to limit the amount of fundraisers needed each month and still provide teachers with the things they need. Our hope is to have 100% participation from BES parents. Whether it’s $5 or $100, the money will go directly to the PEG teacher’s fund.
Donations can be made via cash or check (written out to Basalt Elementary School, memo: PEG) and dropped off at the school office, or you may visit our GoFundMe page and donate on-line at GOFUNDME-BES PARENT ENGAGEMENT GROUP.
If you are interested in sponsoring or volunteering at one of the PEG community events, like Bingo Night, Movie Night or the International Dinner, please feel free to contact Linda Consuegra or Tracy Sgroi directly.
Thank you for supporting BES! Together, we are making a difference!
