Two BES Students Awarded Top Spots in 2014 District Spelling Bee

Congratulations to students who participated in the district spelling bee.

Top three in each grade are listed here.

Fourth Grade: Jack Crawford – BES, Peter Lorah – SES, Karuna Owens – BES

Fifth Grade: Izzy Knaus – CMS, Mikayla Corgan – SES, Isaac Burt – SES

Sixth Grade: Rex Hamilton – CMS, Renee Bruell, - CMS, Ian Chaney – GSMS

Seventh and Eighth Grade: Finlay Roberts - GSMS/Eighth Grade, Aidan Knaus – CMS/Seventh Grade, Erica Diemoz - GSMS/Eighth Grade.

Basalt Elementary Honored with 2012 Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award

Congratulations to the students, teachers and staff of Glenwood Springs High School, Basalt Middle School and Basalt Elementary School for receiving the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. The Governor’s Distinguished Improvement awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student growth. These schools “exceed” expectations for academic growth and “meet or exceed” expectations on academic growth gaps. It is the second straight time BES and GSHS have received the distinction the third straight time for BMS.
